Josh Copley To Speak. He’s good, y’all... and I’m not joshing! This Sunday morning, September 10, I am scheduled to speak at Friends and Families Day at the Shoals Branch church. Shoals Branch is a great little congregation, located just off of Highway 7 near Natchez Trace. I preached for those good folks for 7 years and they have invited me back for a special Sunday. The good news for you is that you will be treated to a message from Josh Copley. Josh is now a senior at Freed Hardeman University. He is majoring in Bible and Counseling. Josh will bring an outstanding message...and I hope you are making your plans to be present and accounted for to hear it.
GriefShare. Our second GriefShare group is only a few weeks from ending. GriefShare is a wonderful program and this has been a wonderful group. GriefShare meets in the basement, on Sunday evenings, from 5-7 pm. We are planning to begin our next group in November. This group could prove to be especially helpful, since it will take those who are mourning through the holiday season, a notoriously difficult time for grief. When you pray, please remember GriefShare.
September To Remember. Let’s make this a September to remember at Fairfield. How? Pray. Prayer is the difference between what we can do and what God can do. We want what God can do, right? So, let’s pray. Participate. Every member of the church is a worshiper. No one can worship for you. Attend our assemblies and pour your heart out to God in worship. Worship is not a spectator sport! Participate! Every member of the church is also a minister. Find something to do in our church family and do it! It doesn’t take an invitation, a meeting, or a committee. Just go about doing good, like Jesus did! If we all do our part in worship and ministry, you can be sure of it... September will be a month to remember!
