As the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Matthew 24:37
Noah’s arks are popping up everywhere. A Dutch builder has a full-size replica on the Maas River in the Netherlands. There is a life-size fiberglass replica in Hong Kong. Another ark is closer to home for us, in Kentucky. And smaller versions of the ark sit here and there on sites around the world.
Hopefully, these replicas of Noah’s Ark will remind us that we are living in the days of Noah. Both Jesus and Peter compare the days before the Flood to those preceding the return of Jesus.
Jesus says, “They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all” (Luke17:27).
Peter says, “The world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.” In a similar way, Peter added, the current earth is facing imminent judgment by fire (2 Peter 3:6).
In this age, we are “Noah’s” ... preachers of righteousness in an evil age. Noah was in the minority when he got on the ark. But he was in the majority when he got off! Like Noah, we warn others that there is a judgment coming.
Noah persevered in his day, and we must do the same. Let’s flood the world with gospel truth! Today is a good day to share the good news!
